More trashy war on the Bay

I just noticed that a copy of the Japanese VHS release of GETTING EVEN aka Super Commander (dir: Leandro Lucchetti, Italy, 1988) is on eBay. The tape is letterboxed. Go here.

Also, altho it doesn't have to do with trashy war flicks you might want to check out the seller's auction for the Japanese VHS release of the original TV-series version of Treasure Island in Outer Space (Italy/Germany, 1987). It's directed by Antonio Margheritti (whom you and I will know from LAST HUNTER/TIGER JOE/TORPEDO/etc. etc.). Like so many other Italian TV-series Treasure was also turned into a feature film version which, needless to say, is much shorter. The film version is entitled SPACE ISLAND (uncut on VHS in Denmark and on cut tape in the UK). However, for some reason the film version is the only one that was released in most places; Japan was the only place to release the full TV version. The series is collected on four tapes and has English dubbing. The Japanese release is retitled Star Legend and the original title is L'Tesoro del Isola. Check it here. Btw, do I need to add it's not out on DVD? You kinda figured, right? Hah!
