I shall return... to Video 2000!!

In February I mentioned a Taiwanese war flick called I SHALL RETURN that I'd discovered but which I didn't actually have a copy of. Today, I've finally closed a deal with a seller in Holland who has the Dutch release... on Video 2000 system!!!

And yes I do own a V2000 player but I've never actually used it so I guess this'll be its virgin voyage. LOL.

  1. Wow a Video 2000! I've never seen one of them in the flesh. Hope your player works!

  2. So do I, so do I. LOL. The seller didn't have a player so he couldn't even check if it's still the right movie on the tape but he promised to refund the money in case someone taped over it.

  4. HorrorCK! Thanks, that's very nice of you! I bought the tape today so it'll be a while before I receive it but in case I can't play it I'll take you up on your offer. Cheers, mate.

  6. Well, you're in the US so maybe that's why you've never heard of it; According to Wiki the system was only distributed to the European countries, Brazil and Argentina. And it only lasted for about a decade (i.e. the 1980s). You can still find tapes on eBay (especially German eBay). And, again according to Wiki, the V2000 tapes actually had some advantages over VHS and Beta, one being that you could use both sides of a tape like a cassette tape. :D

  7. If you were to ever do a youtube video mate, it would be of you putting this tape in your player for the first time and watching the image appear on the screen! It'd be fascinating to see!
