Director: Tonino Ricci
Starring; Jim Mitchum, Christopher Ahrens

Review from IMDb
I saw many bad movies in my life and I mean REALLY BAD MOVIES, but this one is so bad like you wouldn't believe. It was released on a cheap DVD Label in Germany as RAIDERS OF THE MAGIC IVORY with very nice cover art. But never judge a book by the cover. Very bad acting, terrible special effects and a poor story is what RAIDERS has to offer. Stay away from this cheap piece of s*it!

xD xD xD

Maybe it is bad but it took me about 30 seconds to figure out not to trust the bloody IMDb when I first got online, haha. But fun review. Let's wait (till I get my Japanese tape) and see if he's right. :D

  1. Spooky - I finally saw this just last night!!

It's a lot of fun, with a wacky plot, tons of action, and James Mitchum alternating between looking drunk and wondering where he is.

Also, putting a Fu Manchu beard on a white guy and saying he's Chinese - priceless!!

  2. Haha, sounds like you enjoyed it more than our IMDb friend! xD

Making a white guy play an Asian is definitely ridiculous and it becomes even more surreal when you start to think about how often it's been done; I mean RAIDERS is a fairly low budget film but think about films like the old FU MANCHU and MR MOTO films that had Christopher Lee and Peter Lorre in the leads. And these films were big budget films (for their time). LOL.

  3. That is so true!!

What makes it so noticable in this instance is that there is no effort made to make the actor look Chinese - they just put a fake beard on him, put him in a robe with some dragons on it and voila!! :)
