Nick Nicholson about this blog:

I dug this out from Nick Nicholson's old web site. So weird he's no longer here.

"Then we have Jack Jensen's When the Vietnam War raged... in the Philippines, for those of you who don't know Jack, he is a very serious collector of the stuff that was made in the Philippines. Actually to say serious is an understatement. He is totally rabid about it!"

I got in touch with Henry Strzalkowski on Facebook and mentioned to him that I had watched the movie DEATH BOND (which stars both Henry and Nick) just a week before and how weird I thought that was. Henry responded on my Facebook wall:

"Well, you know what they say. "Irony is the second God." I left Nick's wake at 4am and at 9am I was at an audition for a part in the Discovery Channel series called "I Shouldn't Be Alive." How's that for weird? I know Nick's up there somewhere chuckling."

(I feel comfortable repeating it here as it wasn't written as a personal email but an open FB wall message)

  3. Hi Jack

VERY sad news about Nick. A true legend of Filipino war flicks, for sure. RIP, Mr Nicholson.

On a happier note, I'll check your site out in a moment, bro - I'm always on the look out for cool stuff to read on the net and if it's as good as this blog it'll be awesome!

  4. Hey Karlos,
    Yes, sad news indeed.

About my new blog; thanks for saying so (about the old one)! And I'll try and make the new one just a cool - just for you! xD
One of the things is that with the new one I can post about Filipino films that don't quite fit in here because, well, altho they DO star the usual gang and they ARE Filipino exploitation films they fail to be trashy war flicks, LOL.
