Not quite what we're used to around here

Old war movies from the Second World War don't really interest me at all (unless they're cheap, wild, and filmed in some outskirt area of Asia, LOL) but I've just found this Danish VHS release of the Klaus Kinski movie THE DIRTY DAM BUSTERS. I've never watched the film and it may be boring as hell (or awesome and exiting!) but the cover is pretty cool me thinks. :D

  1. It is a rather by the numbers Italian war film. Although most people know the genre best for 'Inglorious Bastards' (1978) which was wonderfully over-the-top, most of the Spaghetti war films were very routine affairs, reminiscent of the old 1950s British war films.

I have a full review of this film on my site under the more accurate if prosaic title of Churchill's Leopards under which it has been released on a surprisingly good looking DVD in the US from Wild East.

  2. Tim!! Another Maniacs' member! LOL. Thank for stopping by and for the info! I know close to zilch about these films but I've just read your review and altho it doesn't sound too exciting I'll certainly have a look at it when I get the tape (and not expect too much, Hah!). Fortunately it wasn't very expensive (altho very rare).
