Jayson from Basement of Ghoulish Decadence blog sent me info and screen grabs from the reg. 1 DVD release of Joe D'Amato's TOUGH TO KILL.

Jayson says:
Quite the poor release, no extras, just a few chapter stops. Interlaced widescreen transfer. No burned-in subtitles, unless they were "matted-over" by the widescreen bar. Released by "Italian Stallion", distributed by Ventura Distribution.

Big thanks goes out to Jayson for the info and screen grabs. Cheers, mate!

  1. I've seen worse, maybe I'll buy it! :)

  2. I'm sure it looks better than my worn Greek FS tape. :/

  3. The Japanese VHS Tape is Very Nice. This is of course the inspiration for David & myself for our book ... Tough To Kill :) .

  4. Picked up an R4 edition today that is some sort of pro-bootleg I guess, it has the Italian Stallion logo in the corner for a few seconds over the title so perhaps it's the same as the R1. Letterbox but the quality is pretty average.

  5. Hey, I've got the Canadian big clamshell of this tape that Jayson from Ghoulish Decadence has. Never seen it before or since. It's one of D'amato's best. Reminds me a bit of Fontana's "Dirty Seven" in it's harshness. I love that shit, early 80s African Bush War, un-politically correct, Soldier of Fortune shit. I guess I won't be buying this DVD then....Those matted "widescreen" discs are an abomination.

  6. Hey VWNT! Gee, that's some rare tape there! I've never stumbled over it on eBay either! And yes, you're absolutely right: AN ABOMINATION!

    Thanks for your comment.

Yes, we have a comment filter now! It seems most comments these days come from shit spammers in India so there you go.

Bikini girls with machine guns

Yep, this video is from the one they're watching in Tarantino's JACKIE BROWN. It's an awesome video; I mean all it is is a bunch of scantly clad sexy babes with automatic guns going: "This is an AK47" pow pow pow pow - Haha. Absolutely fantastic! xD.
